Another week has slipped past without bloggery. Part of this has been due to the inevitable post-holiday accumulation of work; it's been a busy week, and the coming week will also be busy, though far more manageable.

The other part is that I've been forcing myself to do some literary criticism, both as a way to force myself to think about the craft of writing before I start creating some new stories of my own and as a "thank you" to the authors whose stories I've been reading. (Writing is a lonely profession, and you sometimes wonder whether there's anyone out there reading what you've written. No, I'm not hinting. [grins])

As proof of what I've done, here are links to my reviews of the stories in the last two issues of Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine:
March 2010
April/May 2010

These reviews won't necessarily mean much to you if you haven't read the stories, but there are still some useful insights about the craft of writing. I'm hoping to complete my reviews of the January/February 2010 issue of Fantasy and Science Fiction in a few days, and I'll point you to those reviews at that point.

All of these reviews started life on the Web sites of the respective magazines, specifically in the reader forums, so you'll always see them there before you see them here.
