One of my projects in the coming month is to produce the long-overdue revised 2nd edition of Effective Onscreen Editing.

The current edition is nearly 3 years old, and though I'm satisfied that it does a good job of presenting a one-size-fits all approach to editing using a word processor*, it's increasingly obvious to me that I should update it so that it's more directly useful for people using Word 2003, 2007, or 2008. (We'll just politely ignore Word 2004 for Mac, which is best ignored.)

* When I was writing it, 10 (!) versions of Word were in active use, and rather than trying to describe them all, I aimed right down the middle and hit none of them.

So a question for all of you folks out there in blogland (particularly those of you who bought the first edition of the book): What kinds of things would you like to see covered in more detail in the revised edition?

Special bonus question: What kinds of problems are you having editing in Word 2003 or later editions? Have you found solutions to any particularly vexing problems that you'd like to share?

I'll try to find solutions to those problems and include them when I update the book.
