More lit crit

blatherskiteThe inevitable post-vacation detritus is slowly starting to clear up, so I hope to soon return to more regular blog posts. The next major task is to finish proofing the print version of Effective Onscreen Editing, after which I will be a gentleman of leisure. Or, to be honest, less of a slave to work and responsibilities that actually pay the rent.
I've managed to complete my reviews of the penultimate issue of Fantasy and Science Fiction, and you can read the results at the fiction section of my Web site. As with the previous reviews, you'll get more out of these reviews if you have read the stories, but there's much discussion about the craft of writing that will be of interest even if you haven't read them.
I hope to begin work on the most recent issue of Fantasy and Science Fiction, then of Asimov's Science Fiction, after which I hope to actually start again on my own fiction. Most likely, I'll start by working to incorporate some of the feedback I've received on my two novels (thanks!), since they've been languishing due to other commitments.
That being done, I hope to have time to start producing a decent second draft of Dance the Shadows, a YA novel. In between, I hope to get some short fiction done. Hey, it could happen.
